GENERAL Caravel Academy has a 400 meter, 8 lane all-weather facility. There will be no locker room facilities and spikes may not exceed 1/8 inch. National Federation Rules will be in effect. All coaches should refer to DSSAA uniform regulations. General admission entry fees for spectators will be $3.00 per day.
TIME SCHEDULE Gates will open 2:30 Friday, 10:30 Saturday. All team members in uniform will be admitted free. Any manager or non-uniform team member must be accompanied by a coach.

ENTRY PROCEDURES: Please fill out and return the attached entry form along with payment. The entry fee is $45.00 for individual events, $45.00 per relay. Maximum entry fee for a team is $125.00 per team. ($250 for both boys and girls) THE MEET ENTRY FORM and your ENTRY FEE/PURCHASE ORDER must be received by the Meet Director by Monday, May 9. Individual meet entries and seed times/distances must be made on line via Direct Athletics. ALL SEED TIMES/DISTANCES SHOULD BE MARKS ACCOMPLISHED BY THE INDIVIDUAL/TEAM DURING THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

ENTRY FOR MEETS will be provided on line via Direct Athletics. TIMES SHOULD BE NOTED AS “HAND TIME” [HT], IF APPLICABLE. SEED DISTANCES SHOULD BE PROVIDED FOR FIELD EVENTS. ALL ON LINE ENTRIES ARE DUE NO LATER THAN 7:00 PM MONDAY, MAY 9, 2005. Substitutions will NOT be allowed. Heat sheets will be posted on N5CTA.COM by Wednesday evening, May 11, 2005.
SCORING & AWARDS: We will score 6 places on a 10-8-6-4-2-1 basis for all events. The CK Xander Trophy will be awarded to the top team in both boys and girls competitions. The 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive plaques. The top 3 finishers in each event will get medals and automatically gain “All-County” status. The 4th through 6th finishers will get ribbons.
PARTICIPATION LIMITS A team may enter 2 athletes per event or one relay per event. An individual may compete in 4 events.
ADVANCEMENT: Preliminaries will be conducted in the 100m, 200m, and 100h/110h events. All other events will be finals with places decided by time. FinishLynx Timing System will be used for all races.
SEEDING: All events will be pre-seeded. Athletes should report to bull pen when the event is called, check in with the Clerk of Course and remain until directed onto the track.
LANES: Lane 3 will be the preferred lane for all races from the 400 down including the 4x200 relay. Lane 1 will be preferred in all others.
STARTING HEIGHTS: Pole Vault: Boys: 9ft, Girls: 6 feet; progression is 6” intervals. High Jump: Boys 5’4”, Girls 4’4”; progression is 2 inch intervals.
REPORTING: Competitors should report to site when event is called and check in with the official in charge. Implements for the throws must be weighed and certified prior to the start of the event. Certification of poles for pole vault and weighing in of athletes for pole vault will be at pole vault com petition location. Each athlete in horizontal jumps gets 3 attempts in prelims; top 7 receive 3 more jumps in finals.
RAIN DATES: Saturday, 9AM for Friday and Monday 3PM for Saturday
NOVICE SPRINT MEDLEY This race is for novices ONLY. This race is NON SCORING. Participants in this event MAY NOT be in any other event. Awards are given to the top 6 finishers in similar fashion to the other events.
· COACHES JOBS Due to the increasing shortage of officials, N5CTA requires that each team’s coach must run an event, or take an administrative job. Please put your preference on the entry form. Student helpers will also be needed to help you run your event and for other jobs. Please line them up ahead of time.
