Padua cross country wins conference

BELLEVUE -- The Padua girls cross country team won its second straight Catholic Conference title with a 1-2 finish at the conference meet on Friday at Bellevue State Park.

The Pandas finished first with 24 points, and St. Mark's finished a distant second with 63 points. Padua also finished its second straight season undefeated in the conference.

Freshman Samantha Lichtner and sophomore Jessica Walsh came in second for the Pandas.

Last year's individual winner, Jackie Justison, a St. Mark's senior, finished seventh with a time of 20:31.

Diamond State Conference

BELLEVUE -- Chris Bourke of Archmere and Sheena McIntire of St. Thomas More won individual titles and led their teams to titles at the Diamond State Conference cross country meet on Friday.

Archmere took the first three places in the boys race, while St. Thomas More took the top four spots in the girls race.
